How to turn on or off Instagram’s Quiet mode on Android and iPhone

 

To help users spend more time on things that are important to them, Instagram released Quiet mode which shuts down all the notifications from the app. While users can use their device’s Do Not Disturb (DND) mode to avoid distractions, Quiet mode comes with its own different features and perks. 

Here are the steps on how to turn on or off Instagram's Quiet mode on iPhone and Android:

1. Open the Instagram app.
2. Tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner.

6. Tap on Quiet Mode.
   
   
   
   
   
7. Toggle the switch on to turn on Quiet mode.
   
   
   
   
   
8. To set a specific time for Quiet mode to turn on and off, tap on From and To and select the desired times.
9. To turn off Quiet mode, toggle the switch off.
   
   
   

Note: Quiet mode is not available in all countries yet. If you don't see the option for Quiet mode in your settings, it's possible that it's not yet available in your region.

What happens when Quiet mode is on?

When Quiet mode is on, you won't receive any notifications from Instagram. This includes notifications for new posts, comments, likes, and direct messages. You'll also appear offline to other users.

If someone sends you a direct message while Quiet mode is on, they'll receive an auto-reply that tells them you're in Quiet mode and will respond to them later.

How long does Quiet mode last?

You can set Quiet mode to last for a specific amount of time, up to 12 hours. Once the time is up, Quiet mode will automatically turn off.

How do I turn off Quiet mode early?

If you need to turn off Quiet mode early, you can do so by going to your settings and toggling the Quiet mode switch off.
